Welcome to March Hare Media & Entertainment, the creative crossroads, integrating film, music and media into unique events programming. Putting together a show, event, live performance successfully takes a sound sculptor like Yuri Turchyn and creative chaos producer, Christina Kotlar, both consummate crossword addicts who solve the puzzle of uniting disparate objectives into a happy ending result with professional aplomb.

ChristinaCHRISTINA KOTLAR is an independent writer/producer with a background in art direction, graphic design and photography. She began writing and producing projects for local cable TV, nonprofit organizations and corporate communications in the Washington, DC-metro area and completed a Master’s degree in Producing for Film and Video from American University, Washington, D.C. (2001).

At the forefront of emerging technologies, Christina founded and produces Film Festival reViews since 2006, a blog site with filmmaker conversations and overviews, assessing the independent film industry and new trends in film marketing and distribution throughout the film festival circuit worldwide. It’s all together in her thoughtful and thought-provoking WordPress website design company, kotlar concepts+design.

As a member of the Fort Lee Film Commission (FLFC), Christina programs and hosts the Fort Women in History Film Series, Reel Jersey Girls panel discussions and for past several years, Festival Director for Jersey Filmmakers of Tomorrow (JFOT). She worked as the liaison between FLFC and New York Women in Film and Television (NYWiFT) for film preservation projects. She completed a feature length screenplay, Madame Director, a story about first woman film director, Alice Guy Blache and is working on several followup projects including a collection of New Jersey music and musicians.

In June 2013, Christina signed on for the Michelangelo Screenwriting workshop in Orvieto, Italy completing a teleplay for television, FILMTOWN and co wrote B•SIDE with writing and producing partner and international jazz cat, Yuri B. Turchyn.

CYuriAcclaimed violinist, YURI TURCHYN, has had a highly visible career as a featured premier performer. He started out as a founding member of Kinderhook, arguably the most popular New Jersey band during the 1970s along the east coast, throughout New Jersey and New York metropolitan areas, writing original music and songs including Sundance and Standing On The Edge. His fiddle brought down the house, barn, “all the tired horses in the sun” time and again as well as during a recent brief Kinderhook reunion concerts (Twentyten Rockin’ Jersey Again) in 2010.

After the Kinderhook breakup in 1982, Turchyn remained an active player in the 80s music scene performing original music with Bombay; traditional, Irish folk tunes with Trinity II; and was a substantial contributor to the original compositions of Gunther Ford in The World. The next decade he turned to jazz influences with Now, Voyager, a precursor to GRUPO YURI playing the jazz festival and club circuit. After a short hiatus, a rekindled GRUPO YURI came back in 2006 performing before enthusiastic crowds in the New York/New Jersey metro area.

In June 2013, Yuri signed on for the Michelangelo Screenwriting workshop, writing memoir chapters titled B•SIDE, a teleplay for a television and web series at the Instituto San Lodovico, a convent in the Etruscan lava foothills and vineyards of Orvieto, Italy. There he met and performed “gypsy jazz” with renowned acoustic trio BARTENDER at the Enoteca al Duomo, coming back to Orvieto in August 2013 as a guest performer with BARTENDER at the Umbria Folk Festival among other venues on this late summer, Italian tour.

Yuri works as sound sculptor, composer, recording producer, audio engineer and sessions player.
